...Friday, Lu came home early and we went to see an apartment at 5pm. we loved it, so we put in an application, so cross your fingers for us! It's a 2BR + den, so I would probably be back to working from home, but I'm okay with that, considering it's 1,600+ square feet and we currently live in 950 square feet. after that, we chilled and watched a few more episodes of Love, and then met up with my friend Cassidy for dinner and a comedy show in Jersey City, at this Spanish tapas joint called Raval. great food and the last comedian of the set was hilarious, Bonnie McFarlane.
...Friday, we met up with my sister Felicia and her fiancé Ben. We had dinner at a local spot (I got the veggie burger and split the fried green tomatoes with Lu), and then went to see Get Out, the new movie created by Jordan Peele (a comedian/actor/writer we love.) I REALLY recommend it, it was a thriller with funny jokes nestled in between the movie's scariest parts. we hadn't seen a movie in a really long time, so it was a great Friday night. we got back around 11pm and passed out.
I have to admit, I have been seeing collagen peptides everywhere. if you're like me and are wondering 'why the heck is everyone using collagen?', then this post is for you.
I first started learning about collagen with the big bone broth explosion last year. everyone was about the bone broth, mainly because of the collagen benefits. so what is collagen and what are its benefits?
...Friday was tough. it was the day of my grandfather's funeral. after the mass, we went to a luncheon in my hometown (where the mass was held.) after that, we went to my grandmother's house and spent the rest of the day/night with her and family. it was heart-breaking, but always better when loved ones are around.
...Friday, Lu and I worked later than usual and when he got home from work, we went to a local restaurant, where I had a seriously delicious veggie burger with sweet potato fries and a few glasses of wine. I asked the waiter to package up the fries, thinking I'd want them later, and then I forgot them! someone was clearly trying to send me a message ;-) we came back and watched The OA, which we became obsessed with.
I always love knowing what other people are into - I just love learning new things, finding out about new events and things to do, and always enjoy a good product recommendation.
thus, I'm starting a new series called "what I'm currently into" - that's what I'm loving, wanting, doing, thinking, whatever - just what I'm into! and I figured I'd do it on Mondays and recap the weekends a bit.
Lu and I hosted Thanksgiving this year. in attendance: my mother, my father, my sister, Felicia, and her boyfriend, Ben. it was a small and intimate Thanksgiving and I wanted to make it special by taking extra care to the details, like our table.
